After its two-week rest, our sleeping beauty, Sat-B1 was ready to wake up and begin the next chapter of its journey. On Monday, 2 November, the satellite arrived at S5 facility at CSG, Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

Following its long journey, Sat-B1 remained safely tucked away inside its transportation container for another 24 hours, giving it time to gradually acclimatise to its new environment.
Then came the much-awaited moment: time to wake up Sat-B1! The transportation container was opened, revealing the satellite and marking its official welcome to Kourou.

Sat-B1 was then carefully transferred to the clean room, where the engineering teams could get to work, carrying out the first health checks and making sure their precious passenger had arrived safe and sound. Thursday 05 November marked another important milestone in our launch campaign: Sat-B1 was succesfully switched on for the first time since leaving continental Europe!

With Sat-B1 awake, unpacked and safely settled into its new home, the launch campaign could move into its next exciting phase…not before the Airbus flag is also issued..
